Taking card payments in Peterhead

Peterhead serves as the largest settlement in Aberdeenshire and the busiest fishing port in the UK for total landings by domestic vessels. Known as the Blue Toon, commerce here centres around the active maritime industry, working harbours, and coastal tourism. Visitors arriving via cruise ships berthing at Peterhead Bay or exploring landmarks such as the Peterhead Prison Museum and Peterhead Town Trail expect quick payment service. Independent retailers, catering spots, and harbour-side traders need dependable payment equipment that can handle steady footfall without relying on fragile connections.

Business Genie Payments supplies modern Teya card machines that suit both harbour-side commerce and high street shops across Peterhead. Teya Pro is built for quick contactless, chip & PIN and mobile wallet payments. Teya settles card takings the next working day as standard, and qualifying businesses can choose everyday or Instant Settlement options, with conditions and in some cases an extra charge.

Cruise calls at Peterhead Bay

When cruise ships dock at Peterhead Bay, gift shops and pop-up stalls face sudden influxes of international visitors. Teya Pro is built for quick contactless, chip & PIN and mobile wallet payments.

Peterhead Prison Museum bookings

Heritage destinations and tour providers can collect entrance fees and tour deposits ahead of arrival using Teya payment links. Staff simply generate a secure web link to send by message or email, securing ticket sales remotely without processing card details over the telephone.

Matchday service at local sports clubs

Volunteers and bar staff at local sports venues, including grounds near Lord Catto playing fields, benefit from Teya Tap to Pay on phone. Compatible smartphones transform into contactless readers instantly, providing an ideal extra payment point to ease bar queues during busy half-time intervals.

Card machines in Peterhead: common questions

How does the card machine cope with connectivity around the harbours?

The Teya Pro card machine features dual connectivity, operating across Wi-Fi and switching automatically to an active 4G mobile signal whenever necessary. This redundancy protects your trade from drops in connection, whether you are serving customers indoors in the town centre or outdoors along Peterhead Bay.

Can Peterhead businesses access funding to upgrade trade premises?

Yes. Qualifying firms can apply for business funding from Business Genie Payments of up to £1,000,000 repaid naturally as an agreed share of card takings. All funding is subject to eligibility and approval.

Are businesses beyond Peterhead in surrounding Aberdeenshire supported?

All accounts are managed entirely over the phone and online across the UK. Business Genie Payments arranges Teya hardware for firms across northern Scotland, including businesses in Aberdeen 28 miles to the south, Elgin 58 miles west, and Arbroath 72 miles away.

Do you cover businesses in Peterhead Bay, the town centre and the harbours, Peterhead?

Yes. Business Genie Payments sets up Teya card machines for businesses across Peterhead, including Peterhead Bay, the town centre and the harbours, and the wider Scotland. Quotes are arranged by phone or a booked call, so you don't need to visit an office.

Which Peterhead businesses do you set card machines up for?

Locally we most often help seafood merchants, visitor attractions, cafes and sports clubs. Any business taking card payments in Peterhead can ask for a bespoke Teya quote based on its monthly card turnover.

I also trade in Aberdeen and Elgin. Can you cover that too?

Yes. Many Peterhead businesses also trade in nearby towns such as Aberdeen, Elgin and Arbroath, at markets or at events. Tell us every site you trade from and we'll quote for the whole setup. Teya Lite and Teya Go can connect over 4G as well as Wi-Fi, which suits trading away from your main premises.
