Teya card machines for restaurants

In a restaurant, the payment is the last thing a guest remembers about the meal. We help you set up Teya so paying at the table is quick for guests and straightforward for staff, with a quotation based on how your restaurant trades.

Guest paying at the table on a handheld Teya card machine

Tableside payments

The Teya Pro is handheld and battery-powered, so staff can take it to the table instead of walking guests to a till. Teya rates the battery for 14+ hours of continuous use, which covers most lunch and dinner services between charges.

We'll talk through how many machines suit your floor plan. Many restaurants find one per section plus one at the pass or bar avoids staff queuing for a device at the end of service.

Tipping

Tipping is built into Teya machines, so guests can add a tip on screen and totals are tracked in the Teya app. How you distribute tips is a matter for your own tipping policy; the machine records them so the figures are clear.

Bill splitting

Split bills are built in, with separate receipts for each amount. That helps with group bookings, where working out shares by hand slows the table down. We'll show you how the split works on the machine before you commit.

Connectivity

Teya Pro uses dual Wi-Fi with 4G fallback and includes a multi-carrier SIM. If your Wi-Fi is patchy at the back of the room or on a terrace, the machine can switch to mobile data. Mobile coverage still depends on your building and location, so it's worth testing signal in the areas you serve.

EPOS integration considerations

If you use an EPOS, the card machine and till can work together so the amount doesn't need to be typed twice. Teya publishes pairing guides for systems including Loyverse, StrataPOS, Firstware ePOS and CES Software, using app-to-app or cloud connections.

Compatibility depends on your EPOS provider and the version you run, and some providers need an update or licence enabled first. Tell us which system you use and we'll check before you apply.

Deposits for bookings

Pay by Link lets you send a payment link by email, SMS or QR code, which is useful for deposits on large tables or private dining. Links can be created from the Teya Portal, the app or the card machine.

How your quotation is assessed

Your business deserves a quotation based on how it trades. We consider your monthly card turnover, business type and payment requirements to help arrange a suitable Teya offer.
