Running a shop in Cardiff
Cardiff's retail map includes large shopping streets and small independent premises within historic arcades. The Castle Quarter contains Castle Arcade, Morgan Arcade and Royal Arcade, where compact counters are a practical consideration for independent retailers. Queen Street, High Street and The Hayes form part of the wider shopping area. That gives shop owners different selling environments, from customers browsing specialist ranges to shoppers fitting several purchases into a city-centre visit.
Payment equipment needs to fit the available counter without making every sale depend on that spot. Teya Go is a compact card reader that can scan barcodes and connect through Wi-Fi or 4G. Teya Lite is pocket-sized for moving around the shop and provides digital receipts. Where customers prefer paper records of purchases, Teya Pro has a built-in receipt printer, with sales and transactions visible in the Teya app and portal.
A compact arcade counter
An independent shop in Castle Arcade has limited room between its display and wrapping area. Teya Go offers a compact card reader with barcode scanning and Wi-Fi or 4G connectivity. It is an option for a retailer choosing payment equipment around a small counter rather than a large checkout desk.
Payment beside a product display
In a Morgan Arcade shop, a customer finishes choosing an item away from the counter. A member of staff can carry Teya Lite over to take payment beside the display. Its pocket-sized format suits movement around the premises, and digital receipts avoid needing a printer on the shop floor.
Paper receipts for shopping bags
A shopper making several purchases around The Hayes wants a paper record to keep with an item bought in your shop. Teya Pro has a built-in receipt printer and accepts contactless, chip and PIN, Apple Pay and Google Pay. The owner can later view the transaction in the Teya app or portal.

Questions from Cardiff retail shops
Which Teya reader fits a small Castle Quarter shop?
Teya Go is compact and can scan barcodes, making it worth considering for a small Castle Quarter counter. Teya Lite is another option if moving around the shop matters more than having a printer. It is pocket-sized and supplies digital receipts.
Can my Queen Street shop accept payments away from the till?
Teya Lite can be carried around your Queen Street premises and has Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity. Alternatively, Tap to Pay accepts contactless payments through the Teya app on an iPhone or Android phone, without requiring extra payment hardware.
