Running a pub or bar in Preston
Preston’s pubs and bars trade within a city that combines high-street nightlife with sport and major cultural occasions. Friargate includes bars alongside shops and restaurants, and Preston is home to Preston North End F.C. Moor Park hosted Radio 2 in the Park in September 2024. For publicans, regular custom and occasional visitor-led demand call for different service arrangements, rather than treating every evening as the same sort of shift.
Those patterns can mean payments at the bar, staff moving between tables and organisers arranging group bookings in advance. Teya Lite is pocket-sized, with Wi-Fi and 4G and digital receipts for portable service. Teya Pro suits a bar position where printed receipts are useful, while Pay by Link supports booking deposits. Sales and transactions can be viewed in the Teya app and portal, where staff can also be set up.
Football conversations at the bar
On a Preston North End matchday, a pub welcoming supporters may see several customers wanting to order together before heading off. Teya Pro accepts contactless, chip and PIN and mobile wallets at the bar. Its built-in receipt printer also accommodates anyone who needs a paper record of their purchase.
Moving between Friargate tables
A Friargate bar offering table service may need staff to carry payments between seated groups rather than direct everyone back to the counter. Teya Lite is pocket-sized and uses Wi-Fi and 4G. It provides digital receipts, making it an option when carrying a receipt printer is not necessary.
Planning for visitor occasions
Radio 2 in the Park brought a major music event to Moor Park in September 2024. For a group booking around a future Preston visit, a pub can request a deposit through Teya Pay by Link. Send the organiser a link by text or email without requiring an advance visit.
