Teya card machine feature
Split Bill: Table of six? Split it on the machine in seconds.
Split Bill is built into the Teya card machine. Enter the total once, choose how to divide it, and take each guest's share one after another — no calculators, no separate transactions to add up afterwards.
Why it helps
- Faster table turns. No more working out shares on a notepad or walking back and forth to the till for each person.
- Even or custom splits. Divide the total evenly (£30 between 3 is £10 each) or enter a different amount for each person.
- Everyone pays their way. Each guest can use card, contactless or a phone wallet for their own share.
- Clean records. Every share gets its own receipt, and you can print a Split Summary showing the full bill and all payments.
- Works with tips. Tipping is built in too — preset percentages (10%, 15%, 20% by default, all changeable) or a custom amount.

Common questions
Does Split Bill cost extra?
It's a standard feature on the Teya card machine. Each share is processed as a normal card payment under your agreed plan.
Can guests pay different ways?
Yes — one person can tap a card, another can use Apple Pay or Google Pay, another can insert a chip card.
Can I split unevenly?
Yes. Use Custom Split to enter a different amount for each person — handy when one guest had a starter and another didn't.
